FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

Everything you might want to know before starting care with Jayla. Still unsure? Our team is one message away.

Yes. Many members come to us during perimenopause — the transition that can begin in your late 30s or 40s, often years before periods stop. If you're noticing new or unexplained symptoms, we'll help you understand what's happening and what to do about it. Jayla supports women through perimenopause, menopause, and the years beyond.
You start with a short online symptom assessment. If helpful, we mail an at-home hormone test. You then meet your specialist by video, usually within 48 hours, and together build a plan. Any prescriptions ship to your door, and you can message your care team anytime to adjust as you go.
Membership starts at $39/month billed annually (or $49 monthly) and covers your visits and unlimited messaging. Jayla is a cash-pay clinic, so we don't bill insurance directly — but many members use HSA/FSA funds, and we provide superbills you can submit for possible reimbursement. Medications and optional lab kits are priced transparently and billed separately.
For many women, modern hormone therapy is both safe and highly effective — particularly when started within about 10 years of menopause or before age 60. The older fears stem from a study that's since been re-examined. Your specialist reviews your full medical history, walks you through the benefits and risks for your situation, and helps you decide. Non-hormonal options are always available too.
Not always. Menopause is often diagnosed from symptoms and history alone. When testing adds useful information — to rule out thyroid issues, for example, or clarify a complex picture — your specialist may recommend a panel. It's optional and only suggested when it genuinely helps guide your care.
Many members notice improvements within the first couple of weeks, and our median time to meaningful relief is about two weeks. Some symptoms take longer to settle, and finding the right dose can involve small adjustments. That's exactly why unlimited messaging is included — so we can fine-tune without waiting for the next appointment.
If your specialist prescribes treatment, it's filled through our partner pharmacy and shipped discreetly to your door, with automatic refills so you never run out. Prefer your local pharmacy? We can send prescriptions there instead. There are no surprise fees — medication pricing is shown before you confirm.
Your health information is handled in line with HIPAA. Visits are conducted over secure, encrypted video, records are encrypted in storage and transit, and we never sell your personal health data. You control your information and can request access or deletion at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Your membership includes unlimited secure messaging with your care team between visits, plus follow-up appointments as needed. Menopause changes over time, and your plan should too — we're here to adjust treatment, answer questions, and check in, not just write a single prescription and disappear.
No — we work alongside your existing care. Jayla focuses specifically on menopause, and we're happy to coordinate with your primary care provider or OB-GYN. We don't provide emergency care; if you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Absolutely. There are no long-term lock-ins. Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime and remain active through the end of your billing period. Annual members can reach out about our refund window. No retention hoops — just send a message.
